Three senior citizens by age, but young at heart—Vishwas Chati, Uday Panwalkar, and Dilip Bire of Tiger City Cycling Association (TCCA), Nagpur—are all set to undertake one of the world’s most adventurous cycling expeditions, the Manali–Leh–Khardungla (MLK) Cycling Expedition, commencing on 4th July 2026.
Before embarking on this challenging journey, the cyclists sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha at Ganesh Tekdi Temple, Nagpur, and dispatched their bicycles to Manali.
They will be joined by six cyclists from Mumbai and three cyclists from Pune, making a team of twelve cyclists. The expedition will begin from Manali on 4th July 2026 under the leadership of renowned cyclist Mr. Satish Jadhao.
For Vishwas Chati, this will be his second MLK expedition. He successfully completed the same route in 2021, along with Pradip Deshpande and Jayant Mendhi, soon after the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the expedition, the team will conquer some of the highest mountain passes in the Himalayas, including:
Rohtang Pass – 13,058 ft
Baralacha La – 16,040 ft
Nakee La – 15,547 ft
Tanglang La – 17,582 ft
Khardung La – 17,983 ft, currently regarded as one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
The expedition will conclude at Khardung La, after which the team will return to Nagpur on 18th July 2026.
Tiger City Cycling Association wishes all the participants a safe, successful, and memorable expedition.
“Age is no barrier when determination, discipline, and passion lead the way.”
