Insightful Session on “Global Crossroads: Decoding the Iran-USA-Israel Conflict & India’s Strategic Role” Held in Nagpur

Nagpur :- Swadhinta Gram Vikas and Peace Foundation organized an insightful session on “Global Crossroads: Decoding the Iran-USA-Israel Conflict & India’s Strategic Role” at Ravi Bhawan, Civil Lines, Nagpur.

The session featured an expert address by Major General Anil Bham (Retd.), Managing Director Madhav Netralay moderated by CA Shwetali Thakare, in the presence of CA B C Bhartiya, Sthapati Abhishek Deshpande, Akhilesh Peshawe.

CA Shwetali Thakare emphasized that the Iran conflict reflects a shift from conventional warfare to a system-driven conflict involving energy routes, sanctions, trade controls, and financial dominance. She highlighted how decades of sanctions on Iran restricted global banking, oil trade, and capital flows, yet led to internal industrial development, regional alliances, and strategic capabilities-demonstrating economic resilience. She explained the direct linkage between geopolitical tensions and everyday economic impact, noting how disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz influence global oil prices, inflation, currency stability, and supply chains. She also stressed that modern warfare operates through economic pressure, technology, and control over resources, raising critical questions on global power structures and the future of the petro-dollar system. From India’s perspective, she highlighted the country’s historic resilience-from surviving invasions to building a self-reliant economic framework-and its emerging role as a strategic balancer capable of converting global uncertainty into opportunity.

Major General Anil Bham (Retd.) highlighted the evolution of the Iran-USA-Israel conflict, emphasizing modern warfare through missiles, proxy conflicts, and cyber strategies, along with the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on global oil supply and economic stability. He underscored India’s need for energy security and strategic preparedness in a rapidly changing global order.

CA B C Bhartiya discussed the economic implications of the conflict, including its impact on global trade, supply chains, and inflation. He stressed strengthening India’s domestic manufacturing and the need for MSMEs to remain agile amid shifting global dynamics.

The program was attended by eminent personalities including Gokhale, Kishore Dharashivkar, Prabhakarrao Dhote along with academicians, professionals, industry representatives, and students.

The session witnessed active audience engagement, with participants raising insightful questions on global conflict dynamics, economic implications, and India’s strategic role. The panelists addressed these queries comprehensively, helping resolve several doubts and providing clarity on complex geopolitical and economic issues.

The session concluded with a strong message on the need for awareness, preparedness, and strategic thinking in an increasingly interconnected and uncertain global environment.
