Nagpur :- As part of Army Day celebrations, Army Public School, Kamptee, under the aegis of the Brigade of The Guards Regimental Centre, organised an Inter-School Quiz Competition at Sodhi Auditorium, GRC Kamptee on 13 January 2026.
The event aimed to promote patriotism, create awareness about the ethos and values of the Indian Army, and strengthen civil–military connect among students. Students from six prominent schools of Nagpur and Kamptee, studying in Classes VIII to XII, participated enthusiastically. The participating schools included Army Public School, Kamptee (host), Delhi Public School, Kamptee, St Joseph Convent School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sandipani School and St John Public School. The competition witnessed healthy rivalry and reflected strong academic preparation and national awareness among the participants. 
The quiz was conducted by Colonel Vembu Shankar (Retd), Shaurya Chakra awardee and nationally renowned quiz master. His engaging conduct, including a special round on the Indian Armed Forces, made the event informative and lively.
Major General N S Sohal, General Officer Commanding, UM & G Sub Area, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the significance of Army Day, which is observed on January 15 every year, and encouraged students to imbibe values of discipline, integrity, dedication and service to the nation. Several civil dignitaries and educationists were present, reinforcing the spirit of civil–military bonding. The programme concluded with prize distribution, followed by a vote of thanks. The event was widely appreciated as a meaningful Army Day initiative blending education with patriotism.
