New Initiative in NMC Education Department

– Data Pending for 29 Years Updated, Recruitment Process Accelerated

Nagpur :- Significant progress has been made in updating data related to the Pavitra Portal in the Education Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The work, which had remained pending for nearly 29 years, from 1997 to March 2026, has now gained momentum.

As essential information related to teacher appointments, retirements and service records was not updated on the portal from time to time, practical difficulties had persisted in the teacher recruitment process for a long period. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the initiative has been taken under the leadership of mayor smt. Neeta thakare and continuous coordination and follow-up by Education Committee Chairperson Mrs. Santosh Devi Deepak Laddha helped the Education Department take up this work on priority.

As a result of continuous efforts, the important work of updating the required Pavitra Portal data related to Classes 9 and 10 and entering the pending information has been completed. This has paved the way for taking the teacher recruitment process forward.

As a result of this process, appointment letters have been issued to 14 teachers in the first phase. The scrutiny process for 3 teachers is currently underway, while the recruitment process for the remaining 40 posts will be taken forward in the next phase for the respective schools.

Along with this, the work of updating the remaining data of the Secondary Department is also progressing rapidly, with a target of completing it within approximately one month. The process of updating the Pavitra Portal data of the Primary Department has also been initiated.

Education Committee Chairperson Santosh Devi Deepak Laddha said, “Taking forward this important matter, which had remained pending for 29 years, was a major responsibility. With the guidance and support of Hon’ble Mayor Neeta Thackeray, the continuous efforts of the officers and employees of the Education Department, and coordination of the entire team, the teacher recruitment process gained momentum after the data for Classes 9 and 10 was updated. Work is now progressing rapidly on the remaining Secondary Department data as well as the Primary Department data. Our effort is to complete this process as per the prescribed rules and ensure the availability of teachers as required in NMC schools.”

On this significant progress, Hon’ble Mayor Neeta Thackeray and Municipal Commissioner dr. Vipin, expressed satisfaction and appreciated the efforts of the Education Department.

The work was taken forward with the significant contribution of Additional Commissioner (Education) Muruganantham M. Deputy commissnore. Dr. meghana Wasankar, Education Officer  Amit bhadane and Deputy Education Officer Subhash Upase, along with the concerned officers and employees of the Education Department..
