Samwad with Central GST Department Organized by Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC)

Nagpur 29 : The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), the apex trade body of Central India representing 13 lakhs traders across Central India, recently organized an interactive session “Samwad” with officials of the Central GST Department, Nagpur. The session witnessed active participation of members from the trade and industry community.

The Central GST Department was represented by Shri Mukul Patil, Additional Commissioner of CGST, who addressed the gathering and highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) aimed at simplifying GST compliance. He elaborated on measures such as auto-populated GST returns, ITC matching tools, quarterly return filing and the composition scheme for small taxpayers. Shri Patil also apprised the members about several tax-friendly initiatives introduced by the GST Department at Nagpur to promote ease of doing business.

Addressing the session, NVCC President Shri Arjundas Ahuja urged that all necessary and essential commodities be brought under the lower tax bracket to provide relief to the common man.

The Convenor of the event, CA Ritesh Mehta, appealed that the upcoming tax slab rationalisation should be implemented immediately after the next GST Council meeting so that the benefit of reduced rates is passed on to consumers without delay.

During the Samwad, NVCC members actively raised several pressing issues faced by the business community. These included:

Notices issued to genuine taxpayers due to default or non-compliance by their suppliers.

Delay in obtaining GST registration despite timely application.

Rejection of amendment applications on technical or paperwork grounds.

Reduction of tax rates on essential and commonly used items.

Extension of the GST Amnesty Scheme for earlier years as well, so that taxpayers can resolve legacy issues without undue hardship.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Shri Swapnil Ahirkar.

Prominently present on the occasion were Shri Sachin Puniyani, Shri Rajwantpal Singh Tuli, Shri Farooq Akbani, Shri Shabbar Bhai, Shri Hemant Sarda, Shri Jaiprakash Parekh, Shri Virendra Chandak, Shri Manoj Laturiya, Shri Rakesh Gandhi, Shri Harman Baweja, Shri Salim Anjani, Shri Narayan Tosniwal, Akshay Thakkar, Dnyaneshwar Rakshak, Gajanan Gupta, Madhur Bang, Prabhakar Deshmukh, Santosh Kabra, Dharmendra Ahuja, Mohan Gattani, Sandeep Jotwani and  several other distinguished members of NVCC.
