A MEGA VETERANS SAMMAN SAMPARK RALLY was organised at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium, Nagpur, for the Veterans of 7 districts i.e Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Amravati & Wardha on 08 March 2026. The Rally was organised under the aegis of Headquarters Maharashtra Gujarat & Goa Area. Approx 3000 plus Ex- servicemen attended the Rally. Lieutenant General DS Kushwah, Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Sena Medal (SM), General Officer Commanding (GOC), Maharashtra Gujarat & Goa Area was the Chief Guest for the event.
In addition, Major General Navtej Singh Sohal, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area, Navin Reddy Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur and Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM ,Nagpur,also graced the rally with their presence. In his address to the Ex-Servicemen, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Maharashtra Gujarat & Goa Area highlighted the organisation’s commitments towards welfare of ESM and to resolve their grievances on priority basis.
He also brought out the role of Veterans in Nation Building and called upon them to be good Samaritans in society. He also assured the Veterans that Maharashtra Gujarat & Goa Area was totally committed to the welfare of the Veterans community and it will leave no stone unturned in this noble endeavour. Lieutenant General DS Kushwah, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal felicitated and distributed gift hampers to 20 Veer Naris/ Veer Matas. Wheel Chair and Hearing Aids to the needy Ex-Servicemen / Dependents were also distributed during the Rally.
GOC, UMANG Sub Area highlighted various measures undertaken with respect to improvement in facilities of ECHS Polyclinics, CSOs & other initiatives of Central & State Governments. He also distributed financial assist to 10 financially distressed Veeragana & 10 Children of Ex-Servicemen. On the spot Grievance Redressal was carried out through Stalls of SPARSH, NAMAN Common Service Centre (CSC), 15 x Records Offices, PCDA (Allahabad) and Zila Sainik Welfare Office of 07 Districts.
In addition, a Medical Camp with Cardiologist, Orthopaedic with X-Ray Van, Ophthalmologist, Gynaecologist & ENT Specialist and Dental Stall with Dental Chair was also established for the benefit of the attending Ex-Servicemen / Dependents. Employment and Skill Development Stalls, Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) Stalls, Maharashtra Ex-Serviceman Corporation (MESCO) Stalls & Banks etc were also established during the Rally. On the spot redressal of 1462 grievances were carried out for the Ex-Servicemen / Dependents.
