Maharashtra Governor reviews the working of Women & Child Development Department.

Mumbai 03 : Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan reviewed a presentation made by the Women and Child Development Department, especially the ‘One Stop Centre’ and ‘Mission Shakti’ Scheme for women and children at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Wed (2 July).

Stating that the Women and Child Development department works for the development of women, children and some of the most vulnerable sections like orphan, street children, the Governor stressed the need for personal involvement, human touch and team work to implement the various schemes effectively. He called for efforts to reduce the dropout rate among tribal boys and girls and to improve their percentage in higher education.

Minister of Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare, Secretary, Women and Child Development Dr Anup Kumar Yadav, Commissioner of Women and Child Development Nayna Gunde, CEO of UMED – Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission Nilesh Sagar, Commissioner ICDS Kailash Pagare and other senior government officers of Women and Child Development Department were present.
