Nagpur 19 : The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) 2025, organized by NO. 2 MAH
AIR SQN NCC, Nagpur, was successfully conducted from 10th to 19th July 2025 at
Heti Surla, Saoner.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from 424 cadets from different
schools and colleges, supported by 12 PI staff, 10 ANOs, and was led by Wing
Commander V. Deepika Rao, the Commanding Officer of NO 2 MAH AIR SQN .
The camp commenced with an inspiring opening ceremony, where Wing
Commander Deepika Rao addressed the cadets, setting the tone for ten days of
learning, discipline, and self-discovery.
With a meticulously designed schedule blending physical drills, cultural expression,
and intellectual sessions and engaging events. The camp aimed to nurture the
cadets holistically.
Each day began with PT, drill, and yoga, instilling physical endurance and mental
discipline. Cadets honed their skills through rifle firing, tent pitching, and took part in
a variety of competitions including debate, quiz, marathon, drill competition, and the
Best Cadet selection, all of which promoted leadership, critical thinking, and the spirit
of fair competition.
These events not only tested their abilities but also brought out hidden potential and
boosted self-confidence.
A special session on cyber safety was conducted to educate cadets about digital
threats and responsible online behaviour, an essential awareness in today’s
increasingly connected world. Lectures by notable institutions such as NDRF, Garud
Commandos, and Janakrosh (Road Safety Unit) added depth to the training, along
with a motivational session on joining the Armed Forces by retired Group Captain H.
J. Singh.
The camp wasn't just about routine and rigor—it also celebrated creativity. The final
day featured a vibrant cultural evening, where cadets showcased their talents
through song, dance, and drama. The event concluded with an award ceremony, graced by Group Captain Khushal Vyas, Group Commander, who felicitated the
outstanding performers in competitions and cultural events.
Above all, the camp emphasized discipline, dedication, and unity. With a strong
focus on health and hygiene, the safety and well-being of every cadet and staff
member remained a top priority throughout.
The CATC 2025 stood as a testament to the NCC’s commitment to Unity and
Discipline, grooming the next generation of responsible, resilient, and spirited
citizens.
