Nagpur :- A 300 mm distribution feeder main near Bidgaon T-Point, Bhandewadi, under Lakadganj Zone, was damaged by an Airtel fiber optic cable laying agency during excavation work.
The damage to the water pipeline resulted in disruption of water supply and low water pressure in several localities, including Tulsi Nagar, Abbumiya Nagar, and Antuji Nagar. In 2-3 lanes of Antuji Nagar, consumers experienced complete non-availability of water supply during the affected period.
Despite repeated follow-up, it took nearly 24 hours for the contractor agency responsible for the damage to complete the repair work on the pipeline. The prolonged repair duration led to considerable inconvenience to the residents of the affected areas.
Following restoration of the damaged feeder main, water supply has been normalized.
OCW/NMC officials continuously monitored the repair activities and took necessary measures to restore the system at the earliest possible time.
Citizens are requested to cooperate during such emergency situations arising out of accidental damage to utility infrastructure by third-party agencies.
