A RETIRED BANK EMPLOYEE DONATES RS 25.51 LAKHS TO INDIAN ARMY CENTRAL WELFARE FUND

Nagpur :- Shreekant Sahasrabuddhe, a retired bank employee in an inspiring gesture toward national service and social commitment, donated a substantial amount of Rs 25.51 Lakhs from his life saving towards Army Central Welfare Fund. On 11 Jun 26, he presented a cheque of Rs 25.51 Lakhs to Major General Navtej S Sohal, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding of Uttar Maharashtra & Gujrat Sub Area, earmarked for Army Central Welfare Fund. This fund is utilised for the welfare of serving soldiers as well as for the welfare of War Widows, disabled soldiers and families of Martyrs.

Shreekant Sahasrabuddhe, a septuagenarian had saved this money for himself and his wife for travelling around the world. Unfortunately, his wife expired six months before retirement, putting an end to this desire. His children are well settled and thus the family decided to dedicate the money for a worthy cause. Shreekant Sahasrabuddhe has sent an example worth emulating.
